For several years I was a national newspaper film editor, reviewing all the major releases and interviewing stars and directors.
Now I’m a screenwriter for film and television, with over a dozen script sales/ commissions. I’ve written true stories, novel adaptations and comedies.
I wrote BORN A KING (2019), a $21 million historical drama based on true events set in Arabia and the UK in 1919. Directed by multiple Goya-winner Agustí Villaronga, it stars Ed Skrein, Hermione Corfield, Kenneth Cranham, Laurence Fox, James Fleet, Sam Adewunmi, Celyn Jones and Abdullah Ali. It premiered at the Barcelona-Sant Jordi International Film Festival on April 27 2019 and released across the Gulf and Middle East on 26 September 2019, opening at number one at the box office. It won Best Film at the Inward Eye Film Festival, Lake District, November 2019 (patron Brian Cox). Produced by Andres Vicente Gomez and Stuart Sutherland.
With Crispian Mills, I co-wrote SLAUGHTERHOUSE RULEZ (2018), a comedy-horror set in a British boarding school. The debut production from Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s Stolen Picture, it stars Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Michael Sheen, Margot Robbie, Finn Cole, Asa Butterfield, and Hermione Corfield. Directed by Crispian Mills. Produced by Catalyst Global Media with Sony International and Stolen Picture. It released nationwide in the UK on October 31 2018 and in the United States on May 17 2019.
I am a screenwriting tutor at the London Film Academy, and have a BA (Hons) in Modern History from Oxford University (2.1).
